Salinity Effects on Guard Cell Proteome in Chenopodium quinoa

نویسندگان

چکیده

Epidermal fragments enriched in guard cells (GCs) were isolated from the halophyte quinoa (Chenopodium Wild.) species, and response at proteome level was studied after salinity treatment of 300 mM NaCl for 3 weeks. In total, 2147 proteins identified, which 36% differentially expressed to stress GCs. Up downregulated included signaling molecules, enzyme modulators, transcription factors oxidoreductases. The most abundant induced by salt desiccation-responsive protein 29B (50-fold), osmotin-like OSML13 (13-fold), polycystin-1, lipoxygenase, alpha-toxin, triacylglycerol lipase (PLAT) domain-containing 3-like (eight-fold), dehydrin early responsive dehydration (ERD14) (eight-fold). Ten related gene ontology term “response ABA” upregulated GC; this aspartic protease, phospholipase D plastid-lipid-associated protein. Additionally, seven sucrose–starch pathway GC stress, accumulation tryptophan synthase L-methionine (enzymes involved amino acid biosynthesis) observed. Exogenous application sucrose tryptophan, resulted reduction stomatal aperture conductance, could be advantageous plants under stress. Eight proteinase highly GCs quinoa, exogenous pepstatin A (an inhibitor proteinase) accompanied higher oxidative extremely low suggesting a possible role mitigating saline conditions.

Ionic and osmotic relations in quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.) plants grown at various salinity levels

Ionic and osmotic relations in quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.) were studied by exposing plants to six salinity levels (0-500 mM NaCl range) for 70 d. Salt stress was administered either by pre-mixing of the calculated amount of NaCl with the potting mix before seeds were planted or by the gradual increase of NaCl levels in the irrigation water. For both methods, the optimal plant growth and ...

Distribution of minerals in quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.) seeds.

The distribution of minerals in quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.) seed was examined using energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis (EDX) in combination with scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Phosphorus, K, and Mg coincided in localization in embryonic tissue. Since phytin globoids have been known to localize in protein bodies in embryonic cells of quinoa seed, it is thought that P is attributed...

The Worldwide Potential for Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.)

Quinoa is a highly nutritious food product, being cultivated for several thousands years in South America, with an outstanding protein quality and a high content of a range of vitamins and minerals. Other positive aspects of quinoa are the saponins found in the seed hull and the lack of gluten. Quinoa is one of the main food crops in the Andean mountains, but during recent times there has been ...

Antioxidant and Antimicrobial Activities of Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.) Seeds Cultivated in Korea

The objective of this study was to investigate the antioxidant and antimicrobial properties of quinoa cultivated in Korea and to compare it with imported quinoa from the USA and Peru. The highest amount of total flavonoid contents (TFC) with 20.91 mg quercetin equivalents/100 g was measured in quinoa seed extract cultivated in Korea, while the total phenolic contents (TPC) were significantly hi...
